The Challenge
Over fifty innovation trends were buried in PDFs and presentations. People struggled to find what mattered or connect with others working on similar ideas.
The Trend Radar was meant to inspire and inform, but in practice, it was static and hard to use. Everything was managed by hand, with no real structure behind it.
Process Overview
Understand
Mapped how users currently accessed trend information. Identified pain points: buried content, no discovery path, static format.
Decide
Prioritized discoverability and engagement over complex features. Designed for manual content entry while preparing for future automation.
Design
Created trend list/grid views with filters, detailed trend pages, and a lightweight editor interface for manual content management.
Deliver
Shipped living knowledge platform with 51 manually entered trends. Users can explore, follow, and connect around technology trends.

Responsive interface for discovering and following technology trends
Password-protected for client privacy. Access available upon request.
Design Decisions
- →Card-based trend browsing: Each trend as a scannable card with quick actions. Users can filter, preview, and follow without opening full detail pages.
- →Manual-first editor workflow: Designed a lightweight input system for editors with limited time. Manual but practical, not fighting constraints.
- →Follow + connect features: Transformed static content into engagement opportunities. Users can follow trends and see who else is interested.
- →Future-ready architecture: Content structure designed to scale into AI-powered recommendations and automated updates when infrastructure allows.
Key Features
Trend List Page
Clean list and grid view with filters, categories, and quick "follow" actions. Each card shows key facts and links to related projects.
Trend Detail Page
Clear layout showing descriptions, potential, challenges, and connections. Users can download studies and follow trends.
Editor Interface
Simple input system for text, tags, and files designed for editors with limited time. Manual but lightweight.
Navigation Structure
Trend Radar lives in the knowledge hub sidebar, designed to grow into a larger toolbox later on.
